Eligibility ⁠for R2320 SA Disability Grant Direct Payment

To Claim Disability Grant payment in 2025, the following rules should be met:

• The applicant should be a resident, citizen of South Africa or that resident must hold the refugee status. 
• The disabled resident should reside in South Africa. 
• The adult disabled residents can claim this payment. It means the disabled residents should be aged 18 to 59 Years. 
• The adult disabled resident should not get cared in a state institution. 
• The adult disabled resident should have 13 Digit ID. 
• The individual must have severe or prolonged disability. For the temporary benefit, the disability should last 6 months to 12 months. But for the permanent benefit, the disability should last 12 months or more. 
• The disability is assessed by a doctor that is appointed by the state. The doctor’s medical examination report is valid for 3 months from the date of assessment. 
• The doctor will provide the medical report to SASSA for eligibility. 
• The disabled resident should not have earnings over Rand 86,280 if their marital status is single. If the disabled resident is married then the combined earnings of the disabled resident and their partner should be below Rand 1,72,560. 
• If disabled resident is single then their assets value should be below Rand 12,27,600 and if the disabled resident is married then the combined asset value of disabled resident and their partner should be below Rand 24,55,200.
