Canada OWP Permit Eligibility

People can qualify for a Canada OWP if they belong to any one of the following groups:

Graduates of Canadian Schools: Students who completed a full time course from a DLI can get a Post Graduation OWP.

Spouses or Partners: Spouses may also qualify if their partner is studying a Master’s, PhD, or is working in a skilled job under TEER levels.

PR Applicants: If someone has applied for permanent residence then they can get a Bridging OWP to keep working until their PR is approved.

Refugees or Protected Persons: These people also qualify if they are waiting for the decisions. 

Other Special Cases: These include people who are leaving an unsafe or abusive workplace for their protection.
